The magnificent shape of the Toad Rock

The Toad Rock at the starting point of the Path of Promise used to be called as the ‘Rock with its Hair rolled up’, because it resembed the hair shape of the married women.
It is such a big rock, so a lot of woodcutters took a rest under the rock, thus it is a rock that serves as a shelter.

When you take a rest at the resting place here, you will find many locks that are tied up as a sign of love and friendship. The feeling of love will have deepened if you walked all the way until here.

Park Jaehwan explains about the Wolyeong wetlands

In the Wolyeong wetland information center, you will be able to hear all about the value and restoration of the wetland from an instructor. When there is no instructor available, Park Jaehwan will explain all about the region with his strong accent.

Wolyeong Village. Does it mean the shadows of the moon? If so, it might be relatedto the Jeongeupsa’s lyrics that say, ‘Rise high Moon’.

The beauty of
the Geumgang

At the west side of the big lake, Lake Okjeong, there is the Janggeum Mountain and Janggeum-li, which are said to be the hometown of Daejanggeum. This course is known for its magnificent path that goes around the lake and the mountains.

Nangukjeong that has been built at the waterside suits the surrounding sceneries. This was built in 1928 by the people who wanted to collect money and build it because they appreciated the scenery so much. The ancestors who really knew its worth have left this to the younger generations as a gift.
