Jangsu-gun, A crucial region in Jeollabuk-do
Because there is a long stream of water, it is called Jangsu. It is a region where the river is long and the mountains are high, and also a crucial region in Jeollabuk-do along with Muju and Jinan.
It is the start of the 1000-li-long Geum River, and the center to the ecological environment. Like a region in a high altitude, the temperature of night and day are different, thus the apples are very tasty. Other agricultural products are also nationally popular.
From the Goryeo era, it was Jansu-hyeon, but since 1896, it became Jangsu-gun, and it has many heritages such as Namdeokyu Mountain and Jangan mountain county park, and such other famous ecological resources.
In particular, there is the Ddeunbong pond where the Geum River starts, and this solidifies the history of the region’s name. The water that flows from the small pond connects to the West coast, and this tells us the what kind of meaning this river and Jansu-gun has in Jeollabuk-do.

The Jeonbuk Cheolligil Jangsu-gun section consists of the Baekdu Mountain ridge
Masil-gil which used to be the former trekking course of Jangsu-gun.
It introduces the tourism resources of Jangsu-gun.
The Jangan Mountain’s county park where the mountain itself and the whole valley is a big ecological healing place
and the Banghwa-dong ecological road which was selected as a vacation spot can be seen through this tour.
The Ddeunbong Pond road is the road to the Ddeunbong pond which is the start of the Geum river.
From the Ddeumbong pond ecological park and the Water experience center, you will meet the Ddeunbong pond as you go up.
King Taejo Leesunggye saw a phoenix rising high from this pond and decided that he will reign, so this is not just a common path.
Jangsu (Jangansan) Masil Road is a way to show the clean environment and sansing of Jangsu-gun as the 'Oji'.
The beautiful trails will grant you with the scenery of autumn leaves which you will never easily forget.

Banghwa-dong Ecological Road
The land of Dragon and God

'Banghwa-dong Ecological Road' is about 9km back from walking downstream of Deoksan Valley. First, the journey begins at 'Jangansan County Park Parking Lot'.
Along the downhill, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the rugged valley and the strange rock formations surrounding both sides. The valley grows deeper through stone pagodas and about 600m of dirt roads. At some point, the tattered dirt road turns into a walkable wooden deck and the journey heads into Deoksan Valley.

Step by Step, Nature of Life came
Changansan, with its natural environment, is home to numerous protected species, endangered species and natural monuments. The more careful you are in each step, the closer you feel to nature. As you walk through Deoksan Valley with a refreshing feeling, you will soon meet upper and lower concentration camps.
The board of the Upper Yongso is engraved with a checkerboard, so you can imagine the freshness of the Go.
In Lower Yongso, we admire the sheer cliffs and the depths of the dragon and read the names carved on the rock. I'm curious to find various ways to find out how I could write.

A Yongso divided into two road
As you walk past the Yongso, the path is divided into two branches.
The road on the right is a bit more difficult and sometimes daunting, and the road on the left is relatively comfortable.
It is also fun to experience both sides through the middle bridge.
Of course, the cross between the bamboo and pine forests, and the cypress woods where you can sit and relax, are all excellent parts of the road.

Artificial waterfall created by attracting water.
Then follow the refreshing sounds and shapes of the valley to meet the firebug. The waterfall that falls from the height of 110m is exhilarating. It is an artificial waterfall created by pulling water out of the Yonglim festival, so you can enjoy the spectacular view if you go ahead.

A return path
Passing through the Banghwa-dong Natural Recreation Forest,
it enters the well-established 'Banghwa-dong Family Vacation Village'.
It is the first family resort in Korea.
There are also auto camping grounds and wooden experience halls.
How about going backwards? The road is well polished so you can enjoy the forest bathing.

Ddeunbong Pond Ecological Road
Energy of life found at the source of Geumgang

Origin of the Geumgang Fun Legend
Ddeonbongsam is the origin of Geumgang. Hunan and Chungcheong's milk lines are filled with interesting legends. On the last day of Lee Sung-gye's prayer in Sinmusan for a hundred days, the phoenix with a colorful rainbow in a dream came out to reveal the revelation to open a new country.
At that time, when I visited the place where the phoenix emerged, there is an ongdal spring, so it is called ‘Ddeonbongsam. In order to experience the mysterious energy for yourself, we begin our journey at the Floating Ddeonbongsam Eco Park.
It has recently been designated as an ecotourism site and is being created to make it easier to examine the ecological reports and values of the area. Experience programs and exhibitions through various video and photographic materials are very familiar.

Turn around and become Geumgang to the West Sea
The mountain trail that leads you from the Ddeonbongsam Ecological Park to Ddeonbongsam is a formidable climb. Cross the tree deck on the left behind the park and climb the mountain. Everywhere you go, you will encounter various sounds of nature. After walking about the last 800m on the uphill road, the source of Kumgang's “Ddeonbongsam” is finally visible.
It is unbelievable that this little spring flows around the world and becomes the Geumgang to the West Sea. When I go back down the road, I see a silver thread that I have not seen before. By the time it reaches the plains, it looks for the Catholic Church in the Subun Village and reflects on the appearance of the early Hanok Cathedral and the martyr's mind.
Afterwards, the journey ends at Ddeonbongsam Ecological Park'.

Jangsu (Jangangsan Mountain) Masil-Gil

Forget everyday from across the bridge
This is a journey to the backcountry where you can forget busy and exhausting daily life. This is because it is located at 750m high in Jangansan and is one of the most remote areas. Depart from the Yeonju Village entrance three-way intersection in front of the bus stop, and follow the signs to the entrance.
Afterwards, the valley welcomes travelers across the Mudri bridge, where the sunshine is different from Deoksan Valley. As you move forward while listening to the sound of cool water, you will begin to see the Jisilgaji signboard with your hand written on the stone.

Changan Mountain Painted with Autumn Leaves.
It is said that after entering 2010, electricity was not supplied, as it is said that "water must be crossed five times." For those who have left the city, this place will be like Mureungdowon.
Fold half the journey back in the Jisilgaji. On the way out, the beautiful scenery of Jangsan is embroidered in front of you. Especially in autumn when the colorful leaves of the mountain stream fall, it is so spectacular that you can stop your journey for a while. Congratulations on your loyalty at the end of the journey.
